XHE 100-2 Electronic Handle Applicator System – Pontevecchio Plant Installation

The line comprises an XHE 100-2 electronic handle applicator with dual lanes, two adaptive handle feed units, and an external electrical cabinet.

Key enhancements include dual HMI panels, mechanical guide adjustment, motor-driven head height control, a stainless-steel frame, electromagnet-controlled door interlocks, a remote assistance module, and closed-loop asynchronous motors for precise transient performance. The control software has also been fully updated.

The external feeders automatically match the applicator speed (±10%), via servomotors with automatic reel change and a handle buffer to ensure continuous operation during reel swaps.

The electrical cabinet sits on insulated feet to protect against spills and features all I/O connections on the exterior for safe PLC-to-PC access and internal lighting for maintenance.

XHE 100-2 dual-lane applicator: 100 packs/min per lane, integrated on a 54,000 bph line.

Pack Handling and Precision

Twelve speed sensors (six per lane) ensure seamless synchronization with the conveyor, maintaining accuracy during start-up and speed changes. Each lane operates independently, allowing one line to run while the other pauses.

Internal Handling Accuracy

The final pack before stoppage demonstrates consistent precision. Our bespoke algorithm delivers refined control without pneumatic systems, relying solely on closed-loop servomotors for perfect synchronization.
